Kölner Stämme

The so called Cologne Tribes are about 80 associations from Cologne and the surrounding area that spend their free time imitating the historical lifeworlds of 'foreign' cultures. The members of the Cologne Tribes dress up as Genghis Khan or Attila and devote much of their free time to making elaborate costumes. For her media ethnographic research, Anja Dreschke accompanied the Cologne Tribes with her camera for several years.
