Contemporary debates about participation and social cohesion are not only about self-understandings and rules of coexistence, but also about who is the we that can legitimately negotiate such issues. The authors analyse these struggles and discuss the conceptualisation of a new common, experimental forms of new collectivity, social solidarity and social cohesion.
